Drawing my hallucinations

By Jade Smith

I have just read someone’s blog on how drawing saved their life.

I have been admitted to hospital 7 times since 2012 and have met some of the most talented people I have ever met. Whilst in hospital in 2014 I began to draw and realised I had a talent that I hadn’t known about.

I also listen to music while I draw as it helps to focus my mind. My drawings are of images I see and it really helps to see these images on paper. They are all very personal to me. First of all I was diagnosed with psychosis and in 2016 I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder.

Ugly monster who took my soul ..

By Darknesses

It’s like a darkness that creeps over me and swallows my soul and leaves me with empty shell…
There are days where I can’t even look at myself in the mirror because I only see this ugly monster staring back at me…
Try to tell myself this: (Hey everything going to be ok… don’t worry we got this.) But that ugly monster that lives inside me always screams OUT ( NO. You’re nothing but ugly monster like me)…
Now I’m so used to it that this empty shell is home or even who I am… time is going by so fast but I’m only standing here…

  1. Some of the most talented people in all kind of art suffer from depression at some point of their lives, and they’ve found is their talent that saves their lives.
