We want to talk and blog more about mental health, by doing so we can start to break down the stigma surrounding it. Unfortunately we can’t publish everything that is submitted to us. However we do encourage as many people as possible to experience the cathartic experience of putting pen to paper.
We welcome articles on all angles of mental health, be it your own personal experience, your ideas or thoughts on the subject, or news stories, advice, research, blog, poems, artwork etc. Your motivation might be to educate, provide empathy, find community, or simply share.
- We have put together some editorial guidelines for blogs being submitted to us
- Feel free to take a look at the blog ideas here, or at our existing content for inspiration
- Please provide some basic details about yourself, name, image and your e-mail address.
- We take your security and comfort levels very seriously, therefore you may choose to post anonymously
- We accept content that has been published elsewhere online (as long as you own the rights to it). Please provide an existing link when doing so
Please read the editorial guidelines prior to submitting an article. The closer these are followed the greater chance the article has of appearing on the site and of being well received by readers.
1in4 reserve the right to edit content for grammatical purposes, clarity, SEO purposes or simply to stick to the guidelines. With the exception of poetry, we look for articles and blogs to be at least 300 words in length. We will check any significant changes to the text with you prior to publishing.
Please bear with us if you do not hear back from us straight away. 1 in 4 is run by a very small team, therefore we aim to reply within 21 days.

FINALLY SOMEONE HEAR AND UNDERSTAND, THANK YOU
http://www.mentalhealthpanda.wordpress.com
Steady state – tired, always underwhelmed, no joy but sociable – put on a good front
Going downhill – random triggers, no pattern – out of the blue- compulsive thoughts, downward spiral , feeling of brain being squeezed in a vice, fatigued, fuzzy, tunnel visioned, detached and withdrawn…isolate myself push away those who are closest.
Bottoming out – sad and empty but never suicidal just ambivalent about life – not bothered if it was all to end – not missing much.
Conscious of the irrationality of it all throughout but can’t seem to stop the cycle.
Back to steady state
Repeat
I can relate to all of what you’re describing. Thank you for sharing. Take care of yourself.
This is part of my story, there is so much more to it but that would meen a book but I’m sharing this because I am a one in four and a breath away from ending my life seancorriganblog.wordpress.com
