I sat on the grass, sobbing. I had no clue about the steps I would take from here. The things I’d done, the people I’d upset – all because my depression had got out of hand. I knew that I needed help to get back on the right track.
My best friend – the only one who I thought understood – told me she never wanted to speak to me again. No explanation, no words from her. Just a message. The year was 2005.
12 years later, I’m replaying a very similar story…this time with my therapist…she doesn’t want me back…and she let me know in an email. My coping mechanisms have changed now – I’m able to reflect with much more strength.
There is light in this storm and I’m chasing it with my arms wide open. I will find the route to recovery.
