Anyone who has had a mental health condition will know the stigma that comes with it. For many though this stigma is only there due to a lack of knowledge or appreciation if what mental illness is really like.

We use the words depressed, ocd, anxiety etc with dual meanings, because of this some people do not really appreciate the vast difference there is between feeling depressed due to a negative experience in your life, and suffering from long term depression. The differences far out number the similarities.

However it can be difficult to explain these differences, sometimes visuals do a much better job. That is why we challenged you to submit your best artistic visions of what people don’t see with mental illness.

Below are the results:

We are looking to produce a round two of this project,

if you wish to submit your own artwork please e-mail: tom@iam1in4.com
