Over the last few days I’ve seen so much positivity come from Mental Health Awareness Week. So much love has been shown from complete strangers to those who are struggling. Whenever I see someone struggling or reaching out I have no hesitation in messaging that person because I could literally be that person’s somebody when they feel like there is nothing to live for.

Mental-illness-matters-pin - Mental illness matters. Talking about it matters. Seeing the warning sign matters. Addressing how you feel matters. You matter and you are precious.

This is for everyone making progress that no one recognises because you never let anyone see your darkest moments. You’ve been silently winning battles every day and transforming yourself. You should be proud of every small step you’re taking. Keep going because you’ve got this.

Every post that I write comes from my own personal experiences dealing with my mental health. I’ve learnt how to deal with my own anxiety day by day. The one question I get asked about my anxiety is what is the scariest part? My answer is always the same: it’s not the feeling of loneliness or the feeling of darkness that fills you, the scariest part is the utter realisation that you have lost yourself completely and you cannot seem to find a way back.

Mental illness matters.
Talking about it matters.
Seeing the warning sign matters.
Addressing how you feel matters.

You matter and you are precious to everyone around you because you may not want to exist right now but someone is happy that you do. You are worthy, never worthless.

One step at a time.

Hope.
