When you’re feeling really depressed and alone, it can make you blind to any good that exists in the world. Then something happens to make you realise that there are people that truly care.
Family care, but this is different. To realise that you have people in your life that actually choose to be there can make you feel so special, so loved, that it can bring you out of the deepest funk or even stop you from falling into it in the first place.
I’m so grateful
The last few weeks I’ve been lucky enough to see that I have people like this in my life.
One is my oldest friend, Jade. Sometimes, when I’m really deep in depression and I feel like there’s no way out, I know I can call on her and she’ll be there no matter what. No judgement. I do the same for her too. We recently joked that it was like a game of ping pong between us; if one of us is well they’re helping the other!
The other has not been in my life quite so long, but he has certainly made as much of an impact. We’ve had quite some ups and downs, but he has been there for me through a really really rough period of my life (and still is!) I don’t think he realises quite how much he’s changed my life. I certainly can’t imagine my life without him in it now. Without either of them.
Jade and Alex, I don’t think I can ever show you just how much I appreciate the help you’ve both given me over the last month or so. You both make me a better person and I’m grateful.
I can’t explain how much I love you both, you mean the world to me.
Thank you ❤
