Stigma is still out there and it is silencing sufferers who need our help. Please, be part of the solution. Educate yourself and those around you.
For over 10 years I was in the depths of mental illness. Every single day. I wanted to die, but becoming a mother saved me.
Without fear, we’d probably get into stupid situations that would kill us. But when does a fear cross the line and become irrational?
I hope this poem helps anyone who reads it to find the strength to say ENOUGH to all those voices, all those feelings and all those demons.
Pointless questions, ‘what ifs’ and ‘if onlys’ won’t bring him back. I’m just so sorry that I couldn’t save you, Conor.
I am getting out there and managing to be around other people on my own. Not as a mum, or a wife. Simply as a person who is struggling in life.
