A recent survey by Bupa UK, which polled 13 experts and 300 business leaders, found that 68% of business leader respondents feel that a ‘stiff upper lip attitude’ at executive level creates barriers to conversations about wellbeing.
Additionally, 91% of employer respondents believe that technology does and will continue to impact the wellbeing of their workforce over the next decade.
Other findings include:
- 71% of respondents believe that the standard 9am to 5pm working day is a thing of the past.
- 62% of business leader respondents think that they need to show that they do not suffer from ill health.
- 50% of business leader respondents believe it is not possible to be a good leader and be vulnerable at the same time.
- 94% of respondents feel there will be a significant change in the employer-employee relationship over the next decade.

“No one business is the same, but tailored programmes that reflect and compliment working practices improves people’s health and wellbeing and ultimately business performance.”
